Essex Heritage Partnership Grant Program

The Essex Heritage Partnership Grant Program is a matching grant program created to foster collaboration between organizations that share the organization’s mission to preserve and promote the historic, cultural and natural resources of the Essex National Heritage Area.

Reaching out to many in the region, the 14-year old program has provided 381 grants totaling more than $1,815,245 to municipalities and nonprofit heritage organizations to support their stewardship efforts in the areas of heritage education, interpretative programming, historic preservation, community trails, and historical records. These seed grants have leveraged an additional $20,944,657 in public and private investment, fueling economic development throughout the region;

2011 Partnership Grant Program

Due to the uncertain nature of publicly funded programs during these challenging times Essex Heritage is unable to announce a new round of Partnership Grants. No new applications will be solicited or accepted until further notice. Essex Heritage will continue to support all of its current grant commitments and is making every effort to seek alternative funding for the grant program. We are very sorry to make this announcement as we know that many of you rely on Essex Heritage grants to implement excellent education, interpretation, and preservation projects.

We have every hope that through the generosity of our many supporters we will be able to continue the Partnership Grant program in the future.

• Join Essex Heritage. The funds raised through memberships support Essex Heritage programs including Partnership Grants;

• Help spread the word about Essex Heritage and the critical nature of our work in helping communities to educate, preserve and enhance;
• Tell your state and federal legislators about the value you place on Essex Heritage and encourage them to support the organization’s sustainability.
