Safari Details (pdf to Print)

---------------------------------------------------------

? You must be pre-registered for the safari you wish to attend, no on-site registrations permitted. You may sign up for only ONE safari. After registering and paying for one safari, you may add your name to wait list for another safari, if you email Rachel Pagliocco at rachelp (at) essexheritage.org. You MUST include your phone number in that email so we can contact you if an opening becomes available. If it does, you MUST then register and pay for the second safari.

? Only 30 people will attend each session of a safari.

? The duration of each safari is four hours. The first portion of the safari, typically no more than one hour, includes confirming your registration, distributing the equipment, an overview of the equipment, an outline of how the event will proceed and grouping the attendees by skill level so that novices will be given special attention in order that they may gain the maximum enjoyment from the event. The remaining time is out in the field photographing the locale.

? Equipment will be loaned on a first-come, first-served basis. You can try out one camera and bring it back to exchange it for a second camera or new lens as often as you like (based upon availability). There will be a selection of equipment to try that will include digital SLRs with lenses, and may include some point & shoots.

? There will be representatives from each camera company and in some cases a well known professional photographer sponsored by the camera company. In addition there will be staff from ENHC and the host site and several people from Hunt’s Photo and Video. All staff will be on hand to work with the attendees to ensure that everyone maximizes their enjoyment of the safari experience.

? In order to use the available equipment, you MUST have pre-registered and paid, MUST be 18 years or older and MUST leave your drivers license and a credit card at registration.

? Family members are welcome to attend for free but the registered participant is responsible for the equipment. Equipment will ONLY be loaned to the 18+, paid registrant with a valid driver’s license and credit card. The registered participant is responsible for any and all damage to the equipment.

? Safaris are rain-or-shine.
